Dema Alniemi, MD

Dr. Dema Alniemi is double board-certified in Dermatology and in Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology, with expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery - a precise technique for treating skin cancers while preserving healthy tissue.

She earned her medical degree from Mayo Clinic, completed dermatology residency at the University of Vermont (where she served as Chief Resident), and completed advanced fellowship training in Mohs surgery at the University of Wisconsin, the birthplace of the Mohs procedure by namesake Dr. Frederic E. Mohs.

Dr. Alniemi then served on faculty at Cleveland Clinic where she performed thousands of Mohs procedures and held an appointment as Assistant Professor of Dermatology. During this time, she trained medical students, residents, and fellows in advanced surgical techniques, leaving a lasting impact as a mentor and educator.

She is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Alniemi has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has been invited to lecture at multiple dermatologic conferences.
